October 22, 2014 – Denver, Colorado

A team of employees from Designs by Sundown (DBS) traveled to Louisville, Kentucky October 22nd – 24th to attend the national Green Industry Conference (GIC) plus accept three National Landscape Awards of Excellence. These awards are presented each year to recognize superior craftsmanship in all facets of landscaping and is an opportunity to face off against the finest landscape contractors across the country.

This year’s winning projects represent the best landscapes this nation has to offer and shines a positive light on Colorado landscapes. Our 2014 winning projects include estates in Littleton, Denver and Cherry Hills.

2014 Award Winning Projects:

  • Silver Elk Lane – GRAND AWARD (1ST Place) for Residential Landscape Management.
  • Horsin’ Around the Holidays – MERIT AWARD (2nd Place) for Exterior Special Events (Holiday Lighting / Decor).
  • Historic Denver (919 Vine) – RECOGNITION AWARD for Residential Landscape Contracting.

President and Founder, Michael Hommel, attended the conference along with Adam Hallauer, Fred Wheeler, Bill Mansoor, Phil Berry and Rojelio Mendoza. The team proudly watched as Client Manager, Rojelio Mendoza, accepted the Grand Award on stage on behalf of Designs by Sundown at the Recognition Dinner/Award Ceremony held October 23rd, 2014.
